This sailing is a one way journey starting from our wherry base at Barton House, Wroxham to How Hill, located beside the River Ant, deep within The Broads National Park. The trip will be aboard one of our three wherry yachts: Olive, Norada or White Moth.

About the day

Leaving our base, we'll head away from the bustle of Wroxham with a variety of cottages and grand houses on either side. As we leave habitation behind we'll enter Wroxham Broad, a wide expanse of open water enjoyed by pleasure craft and where birdlife can be spotted.  Sailing through, we rejoin the tree-lined Bure and continue past Salhouse Broad and through the busy riverside village of Horning.  Later, turning up the river Ant, you'll get to see just how we get a wherry under Ludham Bridge as we head towards How Hill - an area dedicated to the conservation of Broads habitats.


This sailing will be aboard one of our three wherry yachts: Olive, Norada or White Moth. These surviving wherry yachts were all built by the Wroxham based boatbuilder and designer Ernest Collins. They spent over three decades within his hire fleet, followed by a period of mixed fortunes…
