About the day
This sailing begins at the Museum of the Broads, Stalham. You will explore the upper reaches of the river Ant which is rich in wildlife, and the wide expanse of Barton Broad, before continuing past the picturesque village of Irstead to moor at How Hill.
This sailing will be aboard one of our three wherry yachts: Olive, Norada or White Moth. These surviving wherry yachts were all built by the Wroxham based boatbuilder and designer Ernest Collins. They spent over three decades within his hire fleet, followed by a period of mixed fortunes in private ownership after World War II, before they were reunited in 2012 by the Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable Trust.
Please park in the public car park at How Hill. What3words ///shells.gong.promoted. A minibus will collect passengers at 9:25am and drive to Stalham, where the wherry yacht will be moored, in time for a 10.00am departure.
