About the day
This sailing begins at Ranworth and heads upriver through the busy riverside village of Horning. The journey continues along the river Bure, passing Salhouse and Wroxham Broads and Wroxham's waterside houses, to the wherry base at Barton House.
This two wherry sailing will involve our pleasure wherry Ardea and one of our wherry yachts (Olive, Norada or White Moth) and you will be sailing aboard one of the two. Ardea was the last wherry built, in 1927, whilst the wherry yachts were all built by the Wroxham based boatbuilder and designer Ernest Collins between 1909 and 1915.
Please park in the Wherry Yacht Charter car park at Barton House, Hartwell Road, Wroxham. NR12 8TL. A minibus will collect passengers at 9.25am and drive to Ranworth, where your wherry will be moored, in time for a 10.00am departure.
On board our crew will provide tea, coffee and squash, with biscuits, but please bring your own lunch and any other drinks/snacks that you require.
We operate on "wherry time", subject to wind and tide, and so our arrival time may not always be as advertised.
