How Hill to Barton & return, lunch and sail aboard Hathor.

This sailing begins at How Hill - an area dedicated to the conservation of Broads habitats.  From How Hill, we sail up the River Ant passing the small riverside village of Irstead. Barton Broad is rich in wildlife so keep the binoculars to hand for kingfishers, marsh harriers and more. Our destination is Barton Broad, the second largest of the Norfolk Broads and rumoured to be where Admiral Nelson learnt to sail. 

A stop will be made en-route, typically at one of the surrounding staithes, for lunch. Meals and other refreshments are provided fresh from the How Hill kitchen. Lunch is a cold buffet style and is served with wine or a soft drink. Morning and afternoon hot drinks are accompanied by either homemade biscuits or some of How Hill's superb cake. It is important to advise us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking. 

This sailing will be aboard Hathor, our oldest wherry. Enjoy her lavish and stylish interior with the star attraction being her beautiful inlaid woodwork featuring ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. 

Please park in the public car park at How Hill, NR29 5PG by 9.45am and walk across the field towards the river where Hathor will be moored at the Staithe.
