About the day
A 3 hour sailing on the pleasure wherry Ardea, travelling up the river Ant from How Hill past the picturesque village of Irstead to reaching the wide expanse of Barton Broad. The river Ant is rich in wildlife too so keep your eyes peeled! Ardea was the last wherry built, in 1927, and also the largest wherry in our fleet.
Please park in the public car park at How Hill (What3words ///shells.gong.promoted) and make your way down to the river (about 300m on partly uneven ground) at least 15 minutes before departure.
During the trip you will be served tea/coffee/squash and a choice of delicious cake.
We operate on "wherry time", subject to wind and tide, and so our arrival time may not always be as advertised.
