Olive is named after Ernest Collins' youngest daughter. After a successful conversion, creating the Wherry Yacht 'White Heather' from the wreck of a clinker-built yawl, Ernest built Olive with exactly the same interior plans. Although she looks similar to Norada, Olive can be identified by the O on her vane, portholes among her cabin windows, and her loose-footed sail. The other remaining wherry yacht, White Moth, has her mast top painted blue, red and yellow, and so can easily be distinguished from our wherry yachts.

This produced a problem with the low bridges at Ludham and Potter Heigham. Olive could just about scrape through Potter Heigham Bridge at the perfect tide, and is no longer taken through. Until it was rebuilt in 1912, Ludham Bridge was completely impossible to pass for Olive.

Olive's quiet electric engine can help with the sailing when the wind becomes less favourable, but crew can still give a hand with the quanting! She has plenty of room on her counter-stern deck for sitting and relaxing while sailing. She is not currently available for charter but is next in line for restoration after Norada.
